This trip was lovely. Lasted for a good hour and a half to two hours. Plenty of attentive staff to provide refreshments long the way, either alcoholic or non alcoholic. Very informative and very picturesque. Loved it.

On my first full day in Saint Kitts, I was interested in a way to see and learn more about the island, without doing something too intensive for my taste. The Scenic Railway tour was the perfect idea. Though a little pricey, I think there's value in what you get. The driver who picked me up and dropped me off from my hotel, shared a little information about the island as we rode to the train depot. Once we arrived at the train depot, and migrated up the steep steps on the double decker cars, we were able to sit on the 2nd level and enjoy the breeze and the views. The attendants on each cart worked hard to care for us, passing out daiquiris and piña coladas (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), as well as a small cake made of sugar cane and coconut. It's really tough work to attend to guests on such a vibrantly swaying train car! I value the information I learned and the things I saw, and recommend it for anyone interested in an overview of the island. If you have more days to spend on the island like I did, doing this first could help you figure out which areas you'd like to spend more time in if you don't have a game plan set already.

Our van driver Kurt was courteous and told interesting stories. We arrived to St. Kitt's by cruise ship, it was warm and breezy, a great day for a train adventure. The guide on the train was well-informed of the history of the island, including sugar cane plantations, and sister islands. The train travels the sugar cane route very rural and picturesque. If that's how you want to spend your afternoon then 5 stars for this experience.
