What can we say but Wow. I booked Rumie tours before coming to the Island for Airport transfers but after meeting Rumie we booked in for a Private Chocolate tour.
When we arrived at the airport we were met with the biggest smile. We chatted like old friends on the way to the car. Rumie is amazingly positive and very proud and passionate about the island. Even though we had a long flight the drive to the resort was enjoyable and went by quickly. Rumie pointed out all the local produce and told us all about the local landmarks we passed. It was a wonderful welcome to the Island.
We decided to do the bean to bar experience with project chocolate and booked it through Rumie and it was the best decision we could of made, again the car ride was comfortable, despite the st Lucia roads and we chatted again like we had known each other forever while learning more and more about the island and everything it has to offer. When we got to the tour Rumie became our photographer and videographer making sure to catch every moment for us and leaving us to focus on learning all about the cacao plants and making our chocolate bars.
After the tour and a fabulous lunch she suggested going to do the Tet Paul nature trail. It was a fantastic suggestion , we did the smaller walk which had some breathtaking views of the pitons and the Island. All through the small hike Rumie took photos and explained the local plants, flowers and trees and their uses. Her knowledge is such a great asset as both me and my husband are inquisitive and love to learn about local cultures. After the walk she served us some of her homemade Tamarind juice, she even had ice it was delicious, refreshing and I'm still thinking about it.
Throughout our stay on the Island Rumie stayed in contact even sending me a video of my husband when he went to do the piton hike when she spotted him there.
Saying goodbye when we were dropped of at the airport was like saying goodbye to a friend. Her laugh and good attitude are infectious and her knowledge invaluable. We had an amazing time made all the better for having her as our tour guide.<div class="row"></div>
We had an amazing time in St. Lucia, the most beautiful place on earth! We booked our excursions through Nio Rose, but when she couldn't get to us, she sent Placide from Rumie Tours. Wow, did we get blessed! He was amazing! Took us everywhere we wanted to go! Even negotiated to get us in the waterfall after it had just closed. He went above and beyond! True gentleman and thoroughly enjoyed our land tour with him! Thank you Placide!<div class="row"></div>
We learned about this relatively new Tour Company - Rumie Tours - while having dinner at the @HiltonHarborClub. Rumie, the owner, called to ask what type of tour we were interested in and helped curate a private day tour. Placid, our tour guide/driver, was amazing!! He was friendly, personable, knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with! Our private tour included the following: pick up at our hotel, drive thorough and photo stops at Castries, Marigot Bay, the fishing villages of Anse La Ray and Canaries, different photo stops of the Pitons, then into Soufriere for a stop in the cauldron of the volcano and a soak in the sulphur springs accompanied by a mud bath (it sounds a bit scary but was such a fun activity!!). We concluded the tour with a refreshing "shower" under the beautiful Toraille waterfall!! During the tour, Placid had beverages available to us (water, beer & homemade rum punch) and explained about St. Lucia's history of being a colony of the French and British many times over (7x each!!) before gaining its independence in 1979. At each stop, Placid stayed with us to ensure that we got in with no issues and also doubled as the world's best photographer!! We will definitely contact Rumie Tours again for future tours and adventures when in St. Lucia 🇱🇨!!<div class="row"></div>
Wow, words can't explain how much I have enjoyed the St Lucia vacation with Rumie Tours! They made this experience awesome and definitely one ro remember forever. Placide is the best driver/ tour guide ever 🙌. Rumie's communication and customer service is wonderful. We were able to customize our trip to our liking and it was amazing. I don’t know how I could possibly put into words how wonderful Rumie Tours has been to us our entire stay in Saint Lucia. From the friendly greeting at the airport, to organizing the fast track, booking a last minute sunset cruise when our original plans fell through, the customized Soufriere Tour and again coming to the rescue with a last minute fishing excursion. It was above and beyond any expectations. Rumelia is warm, kind, helpful and an all around genuine, wonderful person that we had the pleasure to meet and work with.
